Sky Glass Air announced: A budget-friendly smart TV with premium looks
Aiming at a fresher demographic.

Sky has unveiled its latest smart TV, the Sky Glass Air, set for release in June. The new model serves as a more affordable entry in Sky’s television portfolio, offering core smart features in a slimmer package intended to appeal to a younger, cost-conscious audience.
Bridging price and functionality
The Sky Glass Air is designed to broaden Sky’s reach into the mainstream market, with a clear focus on younger consumers and those on mid- to lower incomes. Market insights presented by Sky suggest the new model could capture a wider audience than the current Sky Glass range.
Positioned between Sky’s full-fledged Glass Gen 2 TV and its plug-in streaming device Sky Stream, the Glass Air aims to strike a balance between affordability and smart functionality.
Display specs and design options
Despite being a more cost-effective model, the Sky Glass Air features a 4K QLED (Quantum Dot) display with HDR support and contrast enhancement. Its peak brightness of 420 nits and 95% DCI P3 colour accuracy put it in line with mid-tier competitors.
The TV will be available in three screen sizes – 43", 55", and 65" – and three colour finishes: Cotton White, Sea Green, and Carbon Grey.
Audio output comes via a basic 20W stereo speaker system, in contrast to the more advanced Dolby Atmos soundbar built into the higher-end Glass Gen 2. Features like local dimming and Sky Live camera support are not included in the Glass Air model.
Features and availability
The TV runs on Sky’s Entertainment OS, offering integrated search, curated recommendations, and voice control via the “Hello, Sky” command.
Users can access and organise content across Sky and third-party apps with the Playlist function, designed to simplify how viewers find and store content.
Sky plans to support the launch with a major campaign and a dedicated launch event. Glass Air will be stocked online and in-store at Currys with prices starting from £309, or customers can choose to spread their payments monthly with a 0% APR Consumer Credit Agreement.
Customers can choose between paying over 24 months or 48 months, and since it comes with 0% APR, you won’t be overpaying with this option. It does come with a necessary £20 upfront payment, a one-off fee simply for covering administrative and setup costs.
With Glass Air, Sky is clearly positioning itself to compete more aggressively in the mid-range TV category, without compromising its smart streaming ambitions.
Here is the full pricing breakdown:
Size | Outright Cost | Monthly Cost (24 Months)* | Monthly Cost (48 Months)* |
43-inch | £309 | £12 | £6 |
